The Winter Birds Series The crabapple trees around our studio in Milford, Michigan, attract many songbirds during the winter. We leave the camera set up on a tripod near our sliding glass door so we are ready to photograph them during their visits.

The avian traffic was especially heavy during a snowy week and Carl spent many hours outside as the diners stripped the crabapple trees of their ripe fruit. These images are all from that storm.
