I’m impressed by the Dawn Saves Wildlife cause marketing campaign.
I’m even more impressed at the amount that Dawn donates for each bottle sold: Each bottle of Dawn you purchase can contribute one dollar (up to $500,000, must activate donation online) to the important wildlife conservation efforts of the Marine Mammal Center and the International Bird Rescue Research Center with the BP oil spill.
Total raised to date is $455,786. Find out how your state is doing with the Dawn Donation Counter.

According to the website for Dawn, “Dawn has donated thousands of bottles of Dawn dish liquid each year for over 35 years so that wildlife rescue organizations, such as the International Bird Rescue Research Center (IBRRC), can use it to remove oil from aquatic animals. Rescuers prefer Dawn because it removes grease effectively yet gently. Recently, Dawn has increased its support for these organizations by making contributions to improve their facilities and by advocating the prevention of oil spills.”
This type of cause marketing is good for business and most importantly, good for wildlife.
