Learn when to rescue wild animals and when not to

A young fawn explores the meadow from the book, Lost in the Woods by Carl Sams and Jean Stoick.

In the article “Learning when to rescue wildlife animals… and when not to“, wildlife care manager Tammy O’Neil says “Our main goal is dealing with orphaned animals; we don’t want animals kidnapped from the parents. We want a consistent message going out to the public.”

Her message is the same one we use to teach children gentle lessons of nature in our award winning children’s book, Lost in the Woods, and Panda award winning movie, Lost in the Woods: The Movie: Fawns found alone in the woods are rarely lost or abandoned. Newborn fawns spend their first weeks without mom because her scent will attract predators to her babe.
