This is a continuation from yesterday’s post about Karen’s mouse-keepers journal.
“Mynee and Mo came home with me tonight. Their new home, an aquarium with a screened lid, is on my kitchen table.
Leo, the 20 lb. kitty who runs our house, is very intrigued. He has plans other than training them. Fortunately he can’t jump.
Mynee and Mo are safe on the kitchen table. Leo sits on the floor, staring longingly, quivering with excitement — and is he licking his chops?
I offered them treats: raisins, carrots, mouse food. They weren’t interested in eating.
The relocation was probably stressful. They are looking for an escape route – I hope they don’t find one.
I’m pretty sure Mynee (she’s the skinny one), has springs implanted into her little mouse feet. She’s very determined to hop right out of her aquarium – Leo is hoping she succeeds.
Rudy the red dog, second in command at our house, knows something about being an animal star (he had a role in the award-winning movie, “The Riddle in a Bottle” which was released last year).
He’s a little jealous of the new creatures but would rather ignore them than deal with the intrusion. He watches them afar then returns to the soft bed for another nap.”
