It’s time to get kids outside.
A new study, “DAILY MEDIA USE AMONG CHILDREN AND TEENS UP DRAMATICALLY FROM FIVE YEARS AGO”, from the Kaiser Family Foundation states that most youth say they have no rules about how much time they can spend with TV, video games, or computers.
Today, 8-18 year-olds devote an average of 7 hours and 38 minutes (7:38) to using entertainment media across a typical day (more than 53 hours a week) and mobile media helps drive these numbers, according to the study.
The average young American now spends practically every waking minute — except for the time in school — using a smart phone, computer, television or other electronic device, according to an article about the study, “If Your Kids Are Awake, They’re Probably Online”, from the New York Times.
