The National Wildlife Federation named the top 15 wildlife viewing tours. An article in the Grand Rapids Press outlines the tours.
“Green is chic, and lots of companies maybe claim more environmental ethics than they can deliver,” said Daniel Gifford, manager of the federation’s Expeditions Travel Program. “We’re only looking at companies where we’ve looked at their responsible tourism philosophy, and that’s one of the reason why we put it in all materials.
“A lot of the places we go are where the National Wildlife Federation has worked programmatically for years, including the Platte River, where we’ve had long-standing relationships with people who’ve supported the habitats of the Sandhill cranes. There’s a synergy that all rolls into one neat package.”
