According an article in the SeaCoastOnlin.com, an orphaned fawn dodged cars and trucks at a traffic circle before being rescued by police and Fish and Game officers.
Fish and Game Officer Kent Gustafson said the fawn will be brought to a wildlife rescue facility in Madison, where it will be reared until fall, then released into the wild. View the article.
Note: Fawns found alone in the woods are normally not lost or abandoned. We don’t advocate picking up fawns, but in this case the fawn and mother doe were separated and, due to traffic, leaving the fawn be would have put it in great danger.
